Whelp, there goes the neighborhood.

Well, I got to wondering the other day if winter will come again this year..... After Googling my a$$ off, it would appear that it's an annual thing........ Going to have to try and remember that moving forward.
As such, and figuring that as last winters project ran out of winter before it's completion, I 'spose I know what I am up to this winter....... Being as it was to be very temporary the back wall was largely a tarp, I figured I would treat myself to a couple more sheets of plywood and close it up a little better....

Damn truck was just a little too long.

Cute as a button.

I was flying home yesterday and the couple across the isle had their 7 month old with them, just adorable. I think the older you get the more adorable they become.
Obviously you have never been on a multi hour flight with a kid screaming bloody murder the whole time. LOL

I am disappointed though anyone heard any cars cranking the tunes driving around or is that no longer a thing? I still want to pull up next to one and pop in the Bagpipe CD and pump up the volume!

It's been a while since I added to this thread, but I promise, I have been doing the odd thing here and there.
I finally found a home for the south bend 10k I have been using for the past 10 or so years, and as such I had to dig another one out of the dark recesses of the shop and deal with the black widow spiders that I keep as guardians of the iron.....

I didn't take too many pictures along the way, but we have all seen a dirty old lathe before, I gave it a pretty good cleaning and a new serpentine belt and actually took a little time and set it up properly..... Got an unsupported piece 10.5" long to within a .001" taper over its length, then I put it between centers and took a few more light passes while I centered the tail stock.....

I am not going to complain about that. 1.111 on both ends and 1.110 in the middle......

There are no Tides in Ontario. Even the mighty great lakes are not big enough for that. Closest thing here is the wind effect.
Are you sure about that? There are measurable tides on Great Slave Lake in the NWT. Been out on the ice when they are attempting to connect to a 45 degree diamond drill hole when the tide is in and easy to see it.

Yes technically, a bowl of water experiences miniscule tides from side to side and more so in the great lakes, but in the context of global oceans moving to one side of the earth from the opposite side due to the moons gravity the great lakes don't have tides that mean anything to those living here. The wind has a MUCH BIGGER and much more visible affect on lake levels.

Earlier in the day....... Oh yeah, there's a mouse trap over there, have to keep that in mind.
A few minutes ago...... If I just lean in a little bit further I can brush

Yoff the dust on the back of the big shaper......

... Not only is cleaning up the shop extremely time consuming, it can be outright dangerous..... Cheese was tasty though. ;)

Yes, my toe is fine......:p
