That’s the back of it.
I bought a 3’x3’ sheet of 1/8” plate about three years ago and finally am making it useful.
There appears to be a bar across the front near the bottom? You won't be able to push the tool chest in....
Sorry I’m going to build a chest of drawers.

That’s to replace the broken cast bracket.
I'm thinking a 3/4" birch ply carcase with a middle divider. Drawers from 1/2" birch. I have a bunch of 18" 100# capacity full extension drawer slides.

Paint on a project right away? I thought you were supposed to let them acclimatized for a few years.
I don't paint anything till my wife owes me a huge favour.

I had a welding instructor that used to say "anything worth making is worth painting" He thought it wasn't finished if it didn't have paint on it. I tend to agree with him.

We are certainly different then! My version is that anything you are proud of should not be hidden under layers of paint!!!
Of course, that belief has to be tempered by the fact that I absolutely despise painting. Painting is right up there with getting an enema or a colonoscopy! Nah, actually it's worse than that - it's like getting a frontal lobotomy using a eurethral endoscope with a rotary boring mechanism.
