Nope. Actually I was thinking to myself, "What an amazing artisan it take to cut a slot at precisely 84.5 degrees."I am sure some of you must have been thinking, "how can he justify such frivolous waste of aluminum round stock "......
The buckle on my messenger style bag failed. I bought a replacement buckle but realized I'd have to cut open the joints on the webbing and resew them shut which seemed like a lot of hand sewing. So instead I whipped up this 3d printed buckle thing using 1/4" 2.5" bolts. I glued the nuts one too. I think an all metal one buckle would also be interesting. Another reason good reason to spend hundreds or thousands to get a 3d printer to fix a $3 buckle ... if anyone is still on the fence... 😛
I have just two words for you: Ny Lock

Yep. Uphill, both ways...
No, I didn't. First time I heard that it was from Dad.Dunno if you know, but some years back John Cleese finally admitted that the Pythons nicked that bit from an old Stephen Leacock story (Self-Made Men).
good to have friends.... 😛I couldn't get past "messenger style bag". Had to look it up:
What is a messenger style bag?
A messenger bag (also called a courier bag) is a type of sack, usually made of cloth (natural or synthetic). It is worn over one shoulder with a strap that goes across the chest resting the bag on the lower back. While messenger bags are sometimes used by couriers, they are now also an urban fashion icon.
A cheap b*st*rd with fashion sense??? Gotta be one of the rarest of cheap b*st*rds in our species. So I had to look that up, too:
How common is it to see a cheap b*st*rd with fashion sense?
Seeing a cheap b*st*rd with fashion sense in the wild is extremely rare, often considered a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience, even for experienced backcountry users and biologists. They are elusive, solitary cheap b*st*rds that occupy massive, remote home ranges.
I figured as much.
ok @someidiot, in the time honoured forum spirit of over-engineering & over-building I reworked the $1500 buckle, er I mean printer, er buckle....I put on some NY LOK nuts, included gratuitous extra lock washers (to keep my fashion mogul title @Elektrishun ) AND then fixed the other side with a thrust washer version.I have just two words for you: Ny Lock

You could put it that way. But comedic effect demands I split it into two. Three would be best, but not enough syllables for that.
break off the spot welds. Solder on the new batteries,
My problem w/ electric shavers (shut up, @BaitMaster...) is that the razor wheels dull long before the batteries die. Buying new wheels is half the cost of a new shaver, sometimes more. I generally just get a new shaver. My Braun rechargeable shaver wouldn't hold charge anymore.
I usually just grab the nickel tab as close to the weld with long nose pliers as I can and just rotate the pliers. The tab just peels off. Often you can just solder the tab onto the new battery. This is the part of the job where it falls apart for many of us. Breaking off the welds is rarely easy. Soldering on new ones (or the old ones) is usually a, mission from Hell.
