Cheap Bstrd Thread

Hi Guys,

It is cold out here, down to zero C (32F)
The weatherman has threatened snow later...

Well so far it been an easy winter here. Only down to about - 25 cereal with no known winds over 70 kilos. Finger crossed, does it count when the fingers are on different hands?

Ya, pretty mild here too. Only -20C. No big winds either. I love snow that crunchs when you walk on it.

Yeah, a good crunch, its when it go crunch and that foot drops 2 or more feet and your face does a crunch in the frozen snow. DAM, just got to love?? winter. Oh well, better then hanging upside down in the snow trying to get rite side up again.

OK you guys, bragging about having snow and how deep it is.
We very rarely get more than a couple or three inches here, its the cold that gives us problems.

At the moment the outside temperature has dropped down to 28F about -2C, and is still falling. I'm guessing that it will drop to maybe 25F during the night.

All that said I remember as a child the snow being four feet thick and we still went to school !
I'll bet that not many school kids will be at school on Monday.

25F.... cold? ๐Ÿ˜€

Get out the long johns and toques!

Huh? -2C is cold? I wouldn't even wear a jacket at that temp. I might even go shirtless and get a tan on my fur.

In Canada, it ain't cold until C & F cross each other at -40. Some Canadians think that's warm too. I've tested cars at -60 and walked around in a flannel shirt carrying propane in a pail. I wouldn't do that on a windy day though.

Fun fact - The ravens in Thompson Manitoba are as big as a turkey! But not nearly so stupid.

Any time the temp drops below 20 degree C is too cold for me. I hate winter more than any thing else.
The other side is I have never see a hot day here either. Been to Texas in the summer, temp hit 41 degree C. It was just about right.

We are polar opposites. I'm dying of heat exposure at 22C and love the cold.

My favorite seasons in order of preference are spring, fall, winter. Summer should not be allowed.

My thinking is that I can always put more on when it gets cold, but once you are naked, there is nothing more you can do except shave maybe. Even that would never be enough.

LOL We are a lot alike. I can dress for the cold. I can't undress enough for the hot. My upper comfort zone is 25C.

On another thread, I posted a picture of a poorly made yet totally functional collet I made to finish the rotary broach spindle. I am sure some of you must have been thinking, "how can he justify such frivolous waste of aluminum round stock "......

Well, I don't. I do have some chunks of scrap plate in various sizes that I acquired with the purchase of a shaper.

I sliced the last inch off of this and made a 6" piece of square stock, and since I had a few different things going on that needed an aluminum spacer here and there I just left it in the 4 jaw and swapped chucks when I needed another. ๐Ÿ˜‰
