Brent Builds!!

140mower, just have to pick the days, once found 50 lbz. dog food packed in a rolled up carpet. Had a mice problem for a bit! Course the the dogs had a eating problem, (not much food) they would watch the mice pack it away! Never did figure that out.

Ok, so no pics, it didn’t happen ….sigh….

Been busting butt to get electric done and heat. Temps dropped to -8° C and we got ‘er running late the other night!! Shop(s) stable at 65° F woo hoo!!!

Electric is done and heat is now running great. Pics will be forthcoming….

New projects: building a 52” box break stand : any inspired ideas ??? I will post my build if folks are interested?

Welding/storage bench : gotta build a 10-12 foot work bench for fabrication plus uppers for storage. Can document this if there is interest. Will probably involve some (cough cough) wood ish material ……

I will mess things up tomorrow for @Susquatch and take some pics…

The compressor just fit in the attic space and I can then run lines to both shops for air. Attic storage is by the pull down ladder so no floor space lost to stair case. The opening is 50 x 21”. The lights are bright as anything- pic of amazon page is above.

On the floor is a couple cabinets that Canadian Tire had on sale and will fit perfectly into the space.

Heat is running and working great. Shop is a comfortable 65 ish and the machines are nice and warm to touch. Probably 70 ish. I still have to level everything and tram the mill. Fun times ahead!!!

I love that attic space. Nice planning to get knee walls like that with bin storage beyond. Is that a standard truss design or was it custom?

Need to park your tractor in there to get a better floor patina.

Nice layout!

@Susquatch - the roof was designed to match close to our house look. The steeper pitch tying into a lower pitch. When I discussed possibilities with the truss company, the dude suggested a 10/12 and I could get 7 feet of head room with 2x8 joists @ 19.2 centres. The final shop is a good representation of the house.

The attic space is 11 feet wide by the full 24 feet with 7 feet head room. I put up the 2 foot high wall boards to keep things from falling into the insulation.

The building addition was:

Trusses : $5000
Lumber/sheeting : $3500
Heat: $1000
Electrical: $1000
Insulation: $750
Concrete: $3000
Windows and doors: $2500
Siding: $2000
Shingles : $2000
Adding the fun stuff as I go : priceless!
