Well colour me shocked... my vfd has apparently shipped.
I ordered a parallel port card on May 12, shipped today, it and the VFD are schedule to arrive Tuesday.
Suddenly I am awash in projects!

Those old links point to $130-$170 - there's a 99$ alternative, bit I'll look for a while to see if any come down in price.

I scanned all VFDs on amazon.ca, and there were a few really cheap ones - one 380V and one 440V - the best price I could find was the 99$ one today.

Thanks, John, for the link - for a few dollars more, it looks far more capable. I just want one for this 1 HP 3Ph motor I got on a super deal.

Mines is going to power the 1/3 hp coolant pump for the surface grinder.
