  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

2.2 KW VFD, $70.39, Fullfilled by Amazon.ca

Yes I mounted the original Power on/off switch from the drill press front panel in a 4" X 4" X2" box. It is a DPDT switch so it works for 240 volt.

The green "run" and red "stop" buttons start and stop the spindle. The display is active whenever the vfd is powered.

Do you have the capability now to reverse the drill press with the vfd switch?

Does this VFD allow for inputting reference HZ to RPM conversion values thus allowing RPM to be displayed?

DPitman, yes it can be reversed. You can select direction with the FWD/REV key. In the first pic you can see the fwd LED is illuminated above the frequency display and in the second pic the rev LED is lit. You don't need to press stop before changing directions. There is a short video at this link.

Craig, it may have the ability to convert frequency to rpm but I couldn't use that feature because I am using miltiple pulley ratios so I never tried to learn how to set that up.

Ordered one. Just because.
It’s will either be for my surface grinder coolant pump or a lathe conversion.

Some one post a link to this $55 VFD please. It's not the one I originally posted.
