Aside from clearing the front steps, it has to be over a foot before I consider the shovel or the plow. The shovel doesn't see much use. I've discovered that, if you just leave it alone, the snow will eventually melt. People are just so impatient. The path from the house to the shop just gets packed, and sanded if necessary.
You’re lucky if you can wait for it to melt.
In Ontario, we are looking at -20deg C on Tuesday nite, we are not into Spring yet !!
 
Might be a good time to head South of the 26th parallel to escape the shovel duties.

You know, I really enjoyed the project I managed for Toni Dairy in Guayquil, Ecuador: the lowest recorded temperature was 61F, and even those who lived there thought that 90F was hot.

Bay of Islands and Dunedin are going to be highlights of this month long trip.

If you are going to be in Dunedin anyway and even remotely interested in aviation, visiting the Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre is a "must do"!


If you go, say "Hi" to BFH and AKY from me ... fond lifelong memories of flights in both. I even built a model of AKY many years ago ...

(I was actively flying Cessna 140 & 172’s years ago)
