Ali Express (i.e. made in China), and "all have EU plugs" may equate to "not electrically certified in Canada" - for those who care about such things.
Yeah, mine came with an EU plug that needed to be switched.
(Electrics are rated for 220v)
I have run it on 110v/1/60 for a few years, so far.

Got another one for you guys, might be less useful in the machining world, but handy if you do other stuff:

Love cordless heat guns makes labeling control wiring so easy. If you have a big job then plug in for sure. I'm pretty much all cordless including the oscillating, cordless skill saw and sawzall. I really have no need for cords on the job. Well no that's not true still need a cord for the charger.

Looks like something to keep in mind when searching for a gift for son and son in law. Santa usually gets Santa something too and these Knipex would be a hit with all three.

They're pretty awesome pliers, Santa would be kind. Mississauga Hardware had the 3 pack for $139.

I tend to buy cheap pliers as they go missing to easily. Those knipex look great though. Hmm maybe in my basement shop they would be protected from the great tool hole that sucks in tools, never to be seen again.

I pretty much always put everything away each day when I'm done working, so it's easy to keep pliers from disappearing to the void that way. Knipex stuff is pretty awesome, I think everyone should have pliers wrench, twin grips, and their compact bolt cutters...and maybe cobra's, but they are damn pricey, usually average $50/pair.

And free shipping if you add a couple rolls of tape to push it over $150

I added some pliers wrench soft jaws to my order to get the free shipping :)

That's one way to make sure they disappear in my shop. If I want to be able to find things, I keep them with the last job I used them on or I put them on a surface - if I can find one that isn't already being used for other important tools I don't want to lose.

Putting stuff in a drawer is a sure fire recipe for losing them.

A place for everything and everything in its place.”

It’s like putting your car keys in the same place every time you get home: you’ll always know where they are.

This tells me that you are a filer by nature. I am a piler. These are two fundamentally different personality types. I learned this from a Steelcase Office Furniture Psychologist when I was building large corporate headquarter buildings and office spaces. If you try to turn a piler into a filer, you will destroy his productivity and vice versa. Think of it like dogs and cats. Dogs are dogs and cats are cats. Dogs are not cats and cats are not dogs. If you want to have the most productive efficient workspace, you don't force either type to be the other. Instead you let them be who and what they are because accepting both types is a form of diversity allowing the combined capability to be more than the sum of each.

I never have trouble finding my keys as long as nobody else puts them away on me.

Well said! Now can you simplify that to the rest of the Woke Idiots?

But we’re not machines, and we adapt to our environments. My workbench is three layers deep with tools and cabling right now, but all the dishes in my kitchen are stacked nicely, the spice drawers are in alphabetical order, and my tool boxes and parts cabinets are all sorted and labeled. Filing or Piling is adapted to match the task at hand.

Yes, there are a few mutants like you around........

I have a few mutant traits like that too.

It isn't the norm though.

Someplace I recently read that the secret to mankind's ongoing survival in a radically changing encironment is adaptability. Otherwise we would have been wiped out ages ago.

But dogs and cats are both pets and animals and mammals and furry and have four legs and like eating meat....they are more similar than different.

Putting things back in their drawers (or bins or shelves) just resets everything back to known state each day. I also don't have the luxury of having enough work space to leave things out :(

Yep agreed- these are awesome pliers!

Took almost a week for them to arrive from Mississauga Hardware but a good list price of $51.91 for these 8” size (which I kinda think is the Goldilocks size)
Same ones on Amazon are $55.42. I signed up to be on their email list and got a $15 discount on my first order over $100. Also shipping is free for an order over $100. So bottom line for 3 sets was $159.02
(Why 3 pair? - son, son-in-law, and yours truly - SWMBO didn’t buy into ‘but dear I only got 3 so I’d get the discount).
Here’s a pic next to my regular sliding pliers. (btw these are vintage and made in Japan)

Here’s the TwinGrip on a 7/16” and 3/4” bolt head.

Nice! Hope you and the son's end up liking them, they are a pretty slick design and the end gripping comes in useful.

Surprised it took a week to arrive, but might be because of where you are...usually Mississauga hardware I'll order say day 1 (usually in the evening), ships day 2, and arrives day 3 for me but I'm in the city.

I did a naughty thing...

There's red tools in my garage for the first time ... and they're kinda nice :|
This is a good thing: now that you have two battery systems you have twice the potential to buy more tools!

I have Milwaukee 12V, Bosch 10.8 & 12V, Proxxon 10.8V and Craftsman C3 19V ( no longer made, but NOS still available) so I have more choices than space :) .
