Label maker - do you have a recommendation?

David, one thing you might want to consider is the ability to make etching mask with it. Too geeky for me but Mattys Workshop did a video on his set up for etching stuff on metal.

Son Of A B! I needs to gets me some of that

I'm thrilled to see I'm not the only guy who missed that capability.

I must have 100 sheets of Peel and stick numbers and letters. Grandkids are gunna be putting stickers on everything shortly.

I have a brothe ql 800, dymo and epson ksun label shop pro. The brother was 75 bucks at staples and gets the most use, they come up all the time at 50% off. Just buy the labels off amazon. The dymo is at work. The ksun label shop does shrink tube as well as labels. The cartridges are pretty pricy tho. The dymo rhino looks cool. I like the option to both have shrink tube and wrap style labels. The wrap ones are really handy for larger cabling.

Greatest thing since sliced bread!

You know, I worked for a very well known international company who built custom electrical/electronic assemblies as part of the final product and I even managed to get them to buy a shrink label printer (kicking and screaming) and what I got out of the assemblers was we don’t like it we prefer the wrap on stickies, they’re better….. seriously!

For those that don’t have a sleeve printer, try writing on a white sleeve with a Sharpie fine point before shrinking it on the wire, works well. If you’re worried about it coming off put some clear tube over it. You’ll see that in the electrical boxes of some of my gear.

D

Another dumb question. What do all you shrink labellers use to shrink your tubing with? A lighter? A torch? Some kind of focussed heat gun?
