No doubt it’s much easier, but is it more fun?Fluid film is much easier than rubbing sheep all over your tools.

Yeah, it's convenient, but at $5/can it's spendy. There's also those sureshot pressurized sprayers too. Always wanted to try one, but again....I'm cheap....
Holy crap, they used to be like $45-50 and you could get them on sale for around $35. Now up near $100. I thought $50 was bad.....Always thought an old 1lb propane bottle would work great for one (just my recycling mind), but playing around with homemade pressure vessels isn't high on my list of fun shop activities.....
I just got one of these at auction for $5I wonder if these work as well as the brand name ones do. Has anyone tried them?
They seem to work great as long as the fluid is thin enough.
Ya i was going to ask you to clarify that, so like aw32 hydraulic oil aerosolizes? That rust chek straight up would just squirt, kinda. My engine oil one doesn't spray but it will squirt. I mainly use it on drive chains on farm equipment so a squirt is just fine anyway. Hydraulic fluid and diesel oil work just fine.
Good to know I was going to buy one for fluid film.Ya i was going to ask you to clarify that, so like aw32 hydraulic oil aerosolizes? That rust chek straight up would just squirt, kinda.
WD40 is better than brake clean and relatively speaking it's fairly cheap. I definitely never use it for lubrication either, but rust prevention it's better than nothing and definitely better than something that strips everything off.
I NEVER said to use brake clean as a rust preventer. NEVER! I'd think that would actually be worse than spraying it down with salt water!
Lots of way better products out there. Fluid film is awesome but too sticky for indoor use. WD40 Corrosion Specialist is even better than fluid film but too expensive for routine use. Remington gun oil is great stuff but doesn't work well outdoors.
