Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Back at getting the Honda up and running today.
Sorted out my running problem... Let's call it operator error.
I neglected to connect the fuel line to the right side carb. DOH!
After rechecking point gaps and timing, she fired right up.
Tach is reading low and responding very slowly, Not sure what's going on there.

Pull the cable out and clean and lube. It's possibly just all gummed up and has to much resistance to spin freely.
Yup that’s my first plan of attack.
My RD200 was doing the same thing. I tried just pulling the cable out from the jacket but that didn't help. Ended up pulling the whole cable off the bike and soaking it in varsol and then using one of Dads gun cleaning rods to clean out the gunk, he was not impressed but hey, I was 17 at the time and knew better than him. LOL
That Honda has a cable driven tach??? How stone age is that!
Gosh! Using an analog device to display an analog property? But it doesn't display to four digits, how will you know exactly how fast the engine is rotating? And it's not WiFi enabled? How will it log data to the server?
Tachometer fixed.
The cable was completely free to move. The problem was the actual tach. Decades old grease was gumming up the works.
Applied a bit of Kroil to the gap between the tach cable mount and the square drive center piece. Spun the cable with my cordless drill. Rinse and repeat till the needle responded quickly.
Job done.

I have to decide what to do with it as I already have a 24” x 36” x 1/2” table that I built. No holes though.
