DavidR8's shop shenanigans

Made some progress today.
Cut down the extrusion to fit.
Did a trial assembly on the bench to figure out how to get it into the enclosure. It’s gonna be snug!

Next step is to cram the electronics into a box of some sort.
I have two stepper motors cables, two limit switch cables, a control board, two power supplies; one 24v/12v/5v for stepper drivers, control board, LED lights and LED pointer and the power supply for the laser tube.
Should be about 10,000 times easier than than the CNC router enclosure.

Ok here’s some laser cut goodness.
Back panel for the enclosure.
Big circle is for the fan, small square is the power socket.
Pay no attention to the line on the side. The laser decided to lose position and start all over again.

Musing on garage renovations.
What I have now is 20' x 20' garage with a flat roof.
Thinking of a 10'x10' expansion out the front with a peak roof and a suite-like space above for the inevitable failure to launch.
Please excuse the crap CAD on the dormer and the lack of eaves.

@David_R8 your comment on the crudeness of the CAD drawing remind me of Doc's comments about the model he builds in Back to the future. The CAD drawings looks good enough to me to easily understand what you are trying to convey.

Live and Learn David !!
If you were closer, I would be lining up profiles for you to trial.

Make sure you have some sort of ‘Dust Collection’ to keep the area clean.

Not sure I follow you Len, profiles?

Typically that is what ‘Laser Vendors’ in this area called the parts cut.
The pieces cut were 2D ‘profiles’ cut from various thickness of plate.

Are you doing something else fancy ?
