DavidR8's shop shenanigans

Alrighty then!
Gable ends framed up and ready to go up tomorrow and then rafters and sheeting.

Why do they not run the rafters all the way to each end?
The last rafter is used to pick up the end of the 2x4's that support the gable end overhang.
I have seen cases where the rafters ran to the end and the gable overhang is just attached to the 'face' of the last rafter but over time the overhang sags.

Mrs. Whydontu says it now has more architectural integrity. I think my word is better.
