  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Craftex Mill/drill, Orangeville, ON $500

Price is computed on a sq. footage of trailer deck space needed, weight is somewhat of a consideration but usually it is the space needed that dictates.

Yes, that was exactly what determined the price. The weight was somewhat secondary, but they were still interested (I am guessing for floor loading purposes?).

Weight is usually needed for the bill of lading. Not as important if it’s staying in Canada.
Weight probably wouldn’t matter much for small machines, but things like power lift gates or pump carts have their limits.

Heck I delivered a generator to a job site once, they were told it was 4500 pounds, so they only had a little machine to offload it. It actually weighed 4500 kgs!

I did not have to build a crate - it was on a pallet and I just placed some wood 2x4 to protect some buttons and I taken handles off.
