Speaking of support. Doing a funky pipe for a friend. After a late night YouTube Bambu Studio session, gained minimal required knowledge toggle setting allowing slicer to recommend (there are many support options). The padding under the round section in lay down mode is understandable. Thought I would peek inside the build. There are trees & mushrooms growing in there! I printed it this way for interest. Came out nice although apparently I need to design a mini plumbers snake.

I fell down this rabbit hole hard, and there is just no bottom. The last few days have been consumed with reviews, comparisons, filaments and more than I can list or remember. I've dowloaded FreeCAD, modeled my first part and generated the STL.

I just pulled the trigger on an X1-C combo, along with some extra goodies.

My wife says I can't afford to have friends like you guys.
She'll change her tune when I give her that little boat.

you may have to print that little boat in polycast filament, make investment casting mould and then cast in silver and then give it to her on a charm bracelet or such

And I did cancel. The recent furor over certain restrictive updates to the Bambu firmware caused me to consider the implications of this sort of action going forward. The X1C still appears to be a superior printer, but the potential for other more onerous anti-consumer measures, and Bambu's apparent willingness to engage in them, has made me gun shy.

After too much "research", I placed an order for the Kobra S1 combo. It being half the price didn't hurt either.
