Sadly my lathe motor grenaded on the weekend, I’m on the hunt for 220v single phase 1hp ish motor with a 3/4 shaft. It’s to fit an oddball Bulgarian lathe. I’m in the GTA
 
I have one like this for sure but sadly I am in Calgary. I am sure you find one in GTA - or get one from PA or Amazon or Motors direct.

Did you check the capacitor(s)?
