Weiss VM32 CNC mill conversion

I would either put the whole thing in an enclosure, or put some kind of insulation on those terminals. Heat shrink tubing once you have the wiring terminated? I would not trust electrical tape to stay in place. My 2 cents.

Also without splash guards some of that will end up on the floor beside the chips that end up on the floor.
I've used mine with poly sheeting to contain the mess. I try not to use it unless I really need to, it's just too much cleanup. I've been thinking of building a booth to contain the whole machine and mess, but how do I clean the booth properly? And keep access to my handwheels. Which brings me back to the CNC conversion question.
I'm guessing flood coolant only became popular with hobbyists with the advent of enclosed CNC machines.

I'll probably build some kind of enclosure. Not sure how elaborate it might be.
Re the handwheel question: this was a big one for me, and honestly what was stopping me from converting my mill. In the end, I won't have handwheels.
What I learned/realized at John's shop is that simple ops that one would do with handwheels can be easily done with an MPG or G code commands into the MDI.
The Masso controller I'm using also has wizards for common ops.

Very much like the MACH wizards.
