Weiss VM32 CNC Conversion

@jcdammeyer ...... You wanna hustle over there and spill a coffee on his floor or sumthin' to try and slow him down a little..... We're starting to look pretty bad over here.
Good luck, my distracting efforts, barely slowed him down. he packed and shipped the spindle motor. Tracking tells me it will be here Monday (Victoria-> Ottawa), I figure he must have done this one-handed while drilling those oil passages;-)

Sadly I've been distracted over the last little while with work-work and the Herbus project. And we're away when he's got that holiday to work in the shop so I'm not sure what I can do.

I've tried to get him interested in building the Herbus and investing in a laser cutter that can do clear acrylic but it hasn't worked. The clear panels and one more bank of LEDs are all that are left on this project. Spending time with a new laser cutter and 3D printing would definitely postpone all his metal work. Leave it as an incomplete project on the due list...

I saw right through your nefarious plans to sidetrack my CNC progress. :D
In truth do I want a do-it-all laser? You bet. Do I have space for it? Maybe :P

I know! Get rid of some scrap metal. I mean without oil passages... There's a place near our house that has bins where you can just dump your scrap metal. Then you'd have room...

Should be making chips tomorrow. :P
A bit of fussing today. I wasn't happy with the X-axis table movement as it felt like it was binding towards the ends of the travel, more so at the right side of the table.
I put the gib strip in and moved the table to the far left. Turns out the mount was misaligned by about 1/8". Removed all the mounting bolts and let the ball screw set the position of the mount.
Marked a couple of holes on the mount, drilled and counterbored them for M6 SHCS then used those holes to mark new mounting holes in the table.
Broke out the mag drill again, drilled and tapped two new holes and reinstalled the mount. Perfect the second time around.

Also drilled oil passages for the Z-axis. Reinstalled the head assembly. Just need electronics now.
