Wanted: Mill Power Feed

DP - have you received you PF yet?
Mine came in today and I'll be sending it back. It is not branded "ASONG", it is branded "Wen Ding" and I can't find any info on it. More important the worm gear shaft is cut for a 3 mm key not the 3/32 key that is in my shaft. None of the shims have the key slot cut as per the advertised pictures and the dial shim is a spring washer instead of actual shims. It seems like an even cheaper version of what is advertised.
Now I wait for the seller to get back to me as to if they can supply the ASONG.

The one I have is a Wen Ding , and on the side it says Shang Hai song hong. (SOHO). Not sexy, but still my #1 ranked upgrade to my manual mill.

Oh man! NO I haven't received mine yet. Your news is not good. I am not too worried about the brand as KD said his of the wen ding brand is satisfactory but it is maddening when they advertise one thing and send you something else. I'll let you know when mine arrives.
I'm glad I ordered it from Amazon as returning won't be a hassle.

The machine itself looks okay and if the keyway had been right I'd probably make it work but like DP, I also want to get what is advertised. The picture on the box shows a model that has the knob for traverse so that had me a bit worried but the machine does have the handle. Don't even bother with the "instructions", they are a few pictures with very little instruction. Let the internet be your guide.
That's the good/bad with Amazon- returns are easy but it's disappointing when you don't receive what's expected.
TOBAR - did that lady ever get back to you? I'm once more on the hunt:)

I ran out and measured the keyway on the x handheld of my mill and it appears to be 5mm. If the pf is 3mm it won't work for me either.

A copy/paste of the Amazon link is a mile long, look this up,

Hey Guys. I had a look at the power feed that I had mentioned and it was removed from an old bridgeport, and was beyond tired so I told her to scrap it. There was an Align on Kijiji last week for $325 thinking that if I go it I could pass it onto one of you guys, but it sold. It goes without say that I don’t know everyones financial picture, and $400+ is a lot of money, but with fathers day coming up coupled with the troubles you have encountered with buying from ebay/amazon, why don’t you just bite the bullet, tell the family to skip the cards, shaving cream and drill bit sets and give a bit towards an Align. I got mine from Busy Bee in Calgary, paid Alberta (low) tax and haven’t had an issue in the slightest. Parts are available if I need them and everything works as it should. Most of the guys whom I refer to as my “buddies” are 30 yrs my senior, and they all have had successful careers and are well into retirement.... and most seem to be reluctant so “spend” some, or any, of their savings even though doing so would be just fine. Lads..... treat yourselves!!!! You’ve earned it! As a thought, call Busy Bee and see if they’ll discount the price a bit if you buy more than 1 then get a few guys together from this forum and go for it. Or maybe call Align customer service and see if you can get a discount code for your local club. They are likely sitting on a pile of unsold inventory, and while you may only get 10%, that is still a chunk! Good luck guys, and keep me in mind if you need an extra buyer. I’m getting tired of cranking the knee on my mill.

I did call busybee initially and they told me that their pf would not fit my machine. And theirs was $585 on sale.

Mine is the AL-500P. They told me it wouldn’t fit my machine either. Yes the cost is a reality but can you get parts for the ones on Amazon or Ebay. Just a consideration. The other thing might be to contact the machine buyers/sellers. They often times will scrap a machine and part it out. HH Roberts in Missisauga is awesome. Talk to Ron, he’s the guy who has helped me and he’s really helpful. If he doesn’t have one, he’ll know where to get one. Also, consider trying KBC tools? I’m sure you’ll be able to find something under $500.

Ha ha I just checked the tracking on my pf from Amazon and yesterday it was in Richmond BC and today it is in Regina SK. So maybe next week I will have it in Alberta. I should have asked the pilot to throw it out the window when he flew it overhead on his way to Regina.

I received an email this morning requesting pictures of the problem with the PF. I sent them pics of the difference in the keyways and a pic showing that this is not an ASONG unit. They are trying to help solve the issues so we'll see what happens. And I typo'd the key size for my machine, it's 3/16 not 3/32.
KBC has the Align for $507 so with taxes and postage it would be around $600 for me.
DP - that's what you get for living half way between the boonies and the toolies LOL. I would have thought Calgary to have been the drop off from Richmond.

I've given up trying to figure out how CP stages packages for delivery. I've had stuff ping-pong all over the place but they have never lost anything on me so far. And lots of times they deliver 2-3 days earlier than predicted.

Taxes..... can’t help you there. BUT.... Busy Bee will likely have a “price match” guarantee though. So you might be able to buy it for $507 in Alberta, with better taxes and no shipping.
