Tool Vevor Drill Bit Sharpener

Tool
In my 13 A kit from Vevor only 3 of the smallest collets are this weird configuration. The rest are just regular ER 20 collets. Is this the same as what you guys got in yours???

I haven't opened all the collets yet but I assume that they'd only provide special collets where needed in order to save money

Well thats exactly where I was going. I was wondering if the special configuration was most important on the smaller sizes? Don't know why that would be the case but that would also be my guess.

Because regular ER collets for small diameters do not have a nominal hole size all the way through, they are counterbored. Without the 'enhancement' the drill would be flopping around in the air due to lack of support.

I think @gerritv is correct for the small ones. You need to get the ones that support the drill at the small end too.

But I think the bigger issue is at top end of the scale. That's where the ER25 holder raises its ugly head and where the collets themselves are VERY different. The are actually smaller and use a narrower clamping length.

In my mind, I may get the small collets just have them, but I have to ask myself if I will really ever sharpen teeny tiny drills. I could but 20 drills for the cost of the collet and that assumes I can even sharpen these tiny drills. At some point you just give up, buy a dozen drills, and don't worry about sharpening them.

it is the small ones I need to sharpen most... small models have small holes and small bits are prone to breakage in my hands.

Now that I have the cameron microdrill I hope to cure that ill

For the most part, I don't drill very many small holes very often. Mostly big ones for big equipment.

I'm very excited about what we might be able to accomplish with the Vevor with some effort. Sharpening endmills would actually be amazing if we can get that far!
