  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Some Mods To the Belt Drive On My Mill

VERY INTERESTING!! I have the exact same mill and have the same complaints with mine as well! I wish it had a few lower speeds and this looks like a great idea! Thanks for posting it.

Throw a 3 phase motor and VFD on her and you'll never have to change belt positions again. Second best upgrade I have made to my mill.
 
Thanks Terry, I've been looking for someway to do the 600rpm range. I set up with a link belt today, motor to spindle, and it will work well.:)

I have a 2hp 3 phase motor here to put on it one of these days, how ever money is tight (been out of work for a while) and I shouldn't buy a VFD yet so I will have to make due with what I have and try this out first!
