  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Really ?

Math: a decent income in Canada is $120k per year. At 50 weeks of 40 hours, that’s $60 per hour. Or $1 per minute. So the 10 seconds you saved by running the stop sign is equivalent to about 16 cents. So if I give you a quarter, will you wait your turn?

You can give them their quarter when you pull up alongside at the red light a block or so down.

While I agree w/ you, the 90km/hr speed limit is the issue. It's just plain stupid, national park or not.
Totally disagree. The park roads are not regular highways, they are narrow, steep, blind corners, can have lots of traffic, many distractions for drivers, hikers and bicycles on roadside, RV traffic of every sort that requires longer stopping distances and slower speeds. On top of all that animals on the road thay want to protect.

In Europe, nothing surprises me that you might see on the road. In Greece not uncommon to see 3 wheel farm trucks with 8 ft high side boards loaded to the nuts with oranges or melons headed to the morning open markets in town and I once saw a D8 Cat with parallelogram ripper & 14 ft U-blade mounted on it ( prob around 100,000 lbs) being carried on a single axle trailer and a single axle truck pulling it ....authorities would lock you up for doing that in this country.

Meanwhile I read that billionaires are building bunkers that can house themselves and up to 800 of their closest servants friends.
When i was building sub-divisions in west Calgary we tore down an extremely large house that had such a bunker under it. Bunker would have held 50 people with storage room for a lot of groceries with a water cistern that would have held several thousand gallons. Bunker walls were full 3 ft thick concrete.
It was built in the late 60's early 70's during cold war era.

SUE-EEEE, SUE-EEEEE 😳

Supposedly there is at least one house not far from me with a similar era bunker.
