I think the worst is when I look for something I need and then find it a few days or weeks later in the exact place it's supposed to be. Who the Fk put it there anyway! How the hell am I supposed to find things if people put them away! Damn ghosts!

And then there was the time I accused everyone within 10 miles of me of borrowing but not returning my big Dewalt Cordless Drill. I looked everywhere and called everyone - especially all my kids and their spouses. Even looked in the deer stand in the woods cuz maybe I used it there. Then I was laying in bed all pissed off about it one night and it dawned on me that maybe I never had one.... One way to find out. I keep all my boxes for new stuff on the mezzanine. Sure enough no box. Damn that hurt. I guess I just wanted one so badly, and thought about it so often, that I figured I had one! That was damn hard on my ego. Wife felt so bad for me that she bought me one that Christmas.

I regularly now go into a room and have to turn back to where I came from to figure out why I had gone there in the first place...retracing my steps seems to be the most regular form of exercise I get...
You're doing it wrong. Keep at least 3 projects on the go in each room. When you walk into the room to do/get something for some other project and forget why you went into the room. Stop for a second... and then pick up where you left off on one of the existing projects in that room. Two things will happen:
1. You'll get closer to completion on that project
2. In a short while you will remember why you went into the room.
Win-Win no matter what.

OMG, tell me that isn't the future !

OMG, tell me that isn't the future !

Unfortunately it prolly is.

There is an old saying. "Death is not usually a single event, rather life is taken away a little at a time. " Yup, it's gunna get worse.

Btw, here is another related perspective I saw the other day. Some people say, "You Only Live Once". It is a cultural phenomenon, especially among young people. It's often used to justify impulsive or even reckless behavior, from skydiving to splurging on an expensive purchase. The philosophy promotes irresponsibility and taking wild risks.

But some say that isn't strictly true. They claim that "You only die once!" For them, life is something that happens each and every day. By recognizing the ultimate finality of death, we are motivated to live each and every day with purpose and intention. Since we will inevitably die once, we should make sure that we have a more thoughtful and deliberate approach to life. Instead of being reckless, we should make choices that will lead to a meaningful and fulfilling life. It's about building a legacy, making a positive impact on the world around us, and not taking a single day for granted.

It's basically two different perspectives on life and death. I like/prefer the second one.
