  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

H-M site down ?

I'm confused now.

It's just a tool built into Xenforo to make ugly long Url's simple. I think the color of the hyperlink depends on your browser settings.

At the top of your Xenforo window, there is a chain. If you click it you get this window.

I hate to say it but in 140mower's first pic, the hole resembles a bullet hole. Did you rile up the neighbors? Perhaps make Swmbo a little cranky.
I noticed that myownself and wondered if 140 had been one of the first to import war surplus from a recently defunct Syrian army "that was only used as a downrange Cadillac "on one of the many "two-way shooting ranges" in that area.

Sorry for not responding to yesterday's thread. Had a lot on my plate, and didn't get here.

H-M is above 60,000 members now. About 4,000 are active, and we get around 250 posts per day. We approve about 30 new members each week.

Sorry- I was in the Admin panel: the number there includes disabled members of all types. My bad.

An interesting observation.

The USA has roughly 10x the population of Canada. Its worth noting that 10% of 52000 is 5,200. But CHMW has almost 8,000 members. So CHMW actually has 60% more members per capita.

We don't actively seek new members so it shouldn't be a source of pride. Nonetheless, it is remarkable that we have the members we do especially since many of our members belong to both forums.

ahem, you're counting a lot of foreign members as americans on the H-M site....

crap thanks for the reminder, I keep just pasting in long stupid links

I do it too. Matter of fact, I did it just recently. In my case, it's just laziness. So with your comment as a cattle prod, I'm gunna go back and fix it.

Edit - done.

every time I hear this I am more resolved than ever to buy on the Island, or one of the gulf islands. Buy a boat and sail around to the sooke area and watch all the chumps stuck on the road to sooke

Fun fact. When my Fiancée (now wife) and I went to the power and sail squadron to learn basic navigation and then near shore navigation 1 and 2 the charts used in the course were all from the Victoria area. I guess maybe I should prepare and take tides and currents course now
