Whelp, this morning I had this little hole in the cab.

So, I made it a little bit bigger.

Bent up a little patch.

Welded it in.

Gound the welds back and came into the house for a little snack on some peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies..... Might take a short nap......:p
What you up to?

Phew..... Thankfully you asked on a day that I actually did something.

Very nice!! I lost my job harassing picketers today so I only got two things done today F'all and nothing . I am hoping to manifest a couple of machinist jacks in the near future but this dark at 4pm is putting a damper on motivation. As they say you can have results or excuses but not both.

Jees man, sorry to hear that, unless it was time for a change.... Ya, dark at four sucks, but at least the shop has lights. :p

H-M? Am I missing out on a good site?
Anything you can find out there you can find out here... from Canadians.

I've never had a general machining question go unanswered here.

But I'm sure that the mods here that are mods there will tell you that you are missing out. FOMO of powerful force

I’d say the difference is breadth of membership. Hobby Machinist is close to 50,000 members.
The CNC and CAD sub-forums are much more frequented than here for example.
But yes I’ve never had a question go unanswered here. :)

OH I really want to add for @skippyelwell that the advantage of a newbie for investing only in this site at the beginning of your hobby machinist journey is that you can build a local community for in person support that you are less likely to get elsewhere.

Although I am an admin on other Canadian Forums they are waaaay less busy than ours - maybe one or two posts a day, sometimes in bursts. For the most part, they are much smaller special interest groups with just a few hundred members.

I also belong to a number of other machining forums, but ours is the only one I frequent.

I love the width & depth of knowledge and experience here. I also love the laughs and friendships I have made. Lastly I am amazed and impressed by how generously our members help each other. It feels a lot like family to me.

100% agree with you there.
Were it not for this forum I wouldn’t have met @YotaBota, @jcdammeyer, @PaulL or anyone else in the local area.

I'll admit, I am a member of other forums and frequent them as needed.... but I no longer post on them, just use them as a resource now

While your composing the message in this box and use the link tab, you enter the link address then write the text that will show up in your post that is clickable instead of writing out the whole HTML address. When you click ok and the link tab closes the link you just created shows up in blue like any hyperlink but when you hit post reply it shows up black not blue like a hyperlink does making it real easy to read as normal text .

I hate to say it but in 140mower's first pic, the hole resembles a bullet hole. Did you rile up the neighbors? Perhaps make Swmbo a little cranky.
