Well they are in the ground. Not visible easy to see is an almost invisible bird mesh that should at least prevent the rabbits. Deer would likely just push but then the holes are so small that getting a tongue or mouth through would be interesting.The wife quit growing peas in her garden...couldnt keep the deer out of them...at least she called them pea's...I call them "deer bait".
When they get a taste for peas you cant keep them out without high fencing.
In either case the seeds were free from the seed planting workshop (which was also free) so the only thing I'm out is time and some mesh netting. Tomorrow I'll build an easier to open entrance (for humans) so I can plant the bean seedlings and a bunch of flowers.
