  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Sadly, it appears the defence budgets of many countries will be increasing to counter perceived threats.

And who said balloons were all hot air.

Ya and I still want pretty much all those things that were advertised.... x ray specs, spy camera, build your own submarine, and transform my scrawny kid body into a Charles Atlas look alike.

I don't want the sea monkeys tho....I had them and all they did was make murky, stinky water that my father dumped down the drain.
 
That is one of the long standing projects on my to do list! Sending such a balloon into the stratosphere where the sky turns black! I wanted to build a payload with a GoPro camera and some temperature and pressure sensors with data recording capabilities and a location transmitter for recovery purposes. Never got around to it. I suppose if I tried now it would get shot down!!!

put an old fashioned TV antenna on the bottom... Make it look like a spy balloon.. All about the payload.
