Less on is do not bid far more then you are wishing to pay for something.

When two bidders that hate each other meet they often play the game of "biggest looser (winner)" - in such game they will bid for object X worth say 100 way more, like a 1000 - and the last person holding the bill is the looser (winner?). Brent H played that game, but imagine what if the guy had a max of just 100 and it was Brent stuck with 101 to pay for a doll worth only 20. Its just different form of gambling.

At that point my wife didn't care and was tired of getting zapped at the end - but yes, could have not worked out great if I was gambling the kraft dinner budget (typically just use the kids university money -LOL). That burn on the other bidder stopped the crazy stuff with the dolls and other items we we were mutually bidding on.
