  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Oh, and,....... It's a Volkswagen so it may not have been useful from the start.... (We have one too, so I am allowed to jest a little):p

Had to laugh. That is soooo true...... Farmers keep my pocket money from disappearing for buying machines and tools though so I can't really complain.
 
My buddy's dad had a brake shop. Lady came in "brakes are not working, it's making a bad sound.

They put it on the hoist remove the wheel and the rotor is now two pieces metal on metal for long enough to grind through the rotor.
 
Oh. Yeah. Definitely will be doing that.
I'm trying to decide if I want to weld a plate over the hole I made.
definitely weld a plate in there - need to get in some metal working. Also, its part of the subframe, I'd want to be sure that I didn't weaken it and make it want to start a crack from there.
