  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    Another Problem Filled Project

@jcdammeyer Here are a couple screen shots from the base directory. This is the Subassembly 100 series -Base. Opened it as a DWG and it opened the rest of the parts in the directory to complete it. In Soildworks you need to open this as a part and then select "3D" part. I believe (and...

    Shop Dangerous shop lights

I tested a few of these light before deciding on them when I was doing my garage. One thing I did noticed was there are lights with aluminum "leafs" and lights with plastic "leafs" that look exactly the same. The aluminum leaf acts like a heat sink. Not sure what the plan was for the plastic...

    H2D?

I have an X1C. Just printing causes fumes and a slight film build up in the machine. What is going to happen when laser cutting? That smoke has to go somewhere. Built in dryer on the AMS. I'm not sure how or if that will work. You need a fair bit of drying time on most filaments before...

Making metal cones for antique Scottish sporrans

I'm always curious how things are made. I did a little research. No joy. But.....these look like they might belong to an Officer's/Sergeant's sporran from the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. Might help you find some more info on them. You are probably aware of this...

    Weiss VM32 CNC Conversion

Have you tried placing a bit of weight on the table and driving the X axis full travel from left to right? The weight will cause the ball screw to have more of a load on it. The same thing happens if the gibs are too tight. There might be some flex in the mount you made on the left side...
