  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Trick question. Is someone threatening your health if you get more shop space? Blink twice if danger is eminent LOL

only if we get more stuff in current shop...

Health, mental and physical, is the very utmost value. Without mental health the following outward evidence of character can be muted:: Such things as love, loyalty, integrity, etc. Several of the members of my family had mental health compromise those actions.

Without physical health, much of what we would want to do would also become restricted. (the most important of these, is, of course, doing things for others, especially those less fortunate)

... but who of us doesn't want his shop, and work it too! :p

The health is a bigger priority for me, i say this as i scarf down a small hand full of pills the doc says i must have. :(

I definitely think health first!!! As someone who has been periodically chased by the dogs of depression, once the desire to be in the workshop has decreased just seeing my tools not being used makes things worse.

So it wouldn’t matter if my shop was bigger, without health it’s going to feel pointless.

(I’m happy to report that I’ve discovered a therapy that appears to be quite effective for me- researching and buying tools! Acquiring tools when the dogs typically visit appears to be a sure way to keep them at bay. I don’t understand why it’s not covered by my works health plan, it should be. I’ll experiment further this winter)

A shop is meant to be full, and life is meant to be long. Somewhere in the middle is the perfect balance.

You might be on to something getting wellness benefits to cover new tool purchases. My buddies health plan covers golf, so maybe, just maybe.....
I'm positive that many doctors would prescribe a bridgeport mill for someone with severe depression

SWMBO gets her gym fees covered by her health insurance, do you think mine would cover an influx of RF30 parts?
