Maybe they mean you can't use the drill with twist drills ? It doesn't look like it would have enough travel to use a chuck/twist drill combo

I got a big mag drill from a board member. Fixed it up a bit.... I wish I could change it for Vevor mainly due to ... not being a man enough. I mean the thing works its just SOOO heavy. I mean it is very heavy. Like around 100 lbs or more.

Yah that was me. I bought it sight unseen - I had no idea - it's a huge drill. That beast is making for ships or bridges. Have you managed to use it for anything Tom?

I was thinking of making a jig to hold a drill as a mag drill using the same approach as my lathe drill holder. Then adding those twist handle magnets another member posted on making. Let me go find links...

Milwaukee sells 2 mag drills that use the knob twist permanent magnet setup, one that is battery operated for the drill motor, one that is corded for the drill motor (i have the corded version), so not that crazy of an idea!

This is the thread on the drill fixture for the lathe. Make something similar to this - turn it 90 degrees - and make an up/down mechanism. and a clamping foot.

It might need a gusset. The slide is pretty crude just a plate sliding against a plate. Set the friction by setting the bolts and loctite them in On the back of the slide. Maybe a T-nut style slide in the slot would be better. I’m not sure I need a project.

Update on the Vevor mag drill. It said the estimate date for arrival was to be Sunday feb 19 to February 21. I thought ya right, but we will see. Sat in pending from Thursday till Monday. Then I got an email that it was sold out and they would not have more till Feb 28. Got a refund and now wait. Still says in stock on the website unless I go to where I had it on order then it’s out of stock as is the version with 11 cutters. Quick with the refund it seems. Never dealt with Vevor before this.
