I think my wife is amazing. She is multi talented, coordinated, has the body of a 22 year old, knows every sex trick in the book and loves to use them, had 4 kids and didn't gain a pound, cooks amazing meals, keeps the house clean and tidy, loves her kids and grandkids, and most of all loves me and puts up with me and all my rotten traits.

Of course, neat and tidy means that she is a filer - not a piler. This morning she was folding packing paper - that stuff they crumple up and put in the box to protect the contents from high impact loads. I throw it in the paper recycle as is, or burn it, and sometimes I keep some still all crumpled up in a big huge box for those times when I sell or give something away.

Not my wife. She flattens it all out, and then folds it neatly into a pancake. I asked her if she was keeping it. She said no, and then placed it neatly into the recycle bin. She also organizes empty bottles all neat and tidy.

I don't get it. It's only gunna get shredded at the recycle center. Why bother? She says, I don't want the recycle guys to think I'm a slob.......

Honey, one look at you and they won't care if you are a slob. That won't even cross their minds. Well that doesn't matter anyway cuz I care, she says.

So how many of you filers organize your recycle and your garbage? I wanna know!

While we were demoing the interior of our new house, my father in law diligently cleaned and disinfected a cabinet only for it to be almost immediately destroyed with a sledge. He's a filer and is diligent about the trash (probably not that diligent).

Depending on my mood / present level of neuroticism, I sort or stack or organize whatever's in front of me. It's kind of like a fidget toy. I also like neatly folding/flattening boxes because they take up so much less space in the recycling and are pretty low effort.

Every horizontal surface in my shop and office is piled with stuff. Still, I neatly refold the paper bags that groceries now come in before putting them in the blue recycle box. Mainly because the box would be overflowing otherwise. Burning them is not an option in the city.

Craig
(My wife and I virtually always take reusable bags to the grocery store. The paper ones mostly come from my son can't be arsed.)

My wife is the same way and has also not gained a pound (125lbs). French Canadian so some other good traits;

I'm not holding up my end, I played soccer until 50 and gained 40lbs after I stopped playing, not easy loosing weight with a French chef in the kitchen.

Amazing mother. Very protective when they were young and so many good decisions along that journey.

Exceptional bright, she has +65 IQ points on me, that thankfully the kids inherited.

I'm a lucky guy.

i'm sure your wife is beyond great, but is anyone else a little disappointed? ......I was expecting one of these, complete with 100 new in the box files.

Artur Huster Werdau .... German, combo of filer and bandsaw.

The meetings around that one must have been somewhat amusing ..... in a heavy German accent .... "I tell you Horst, THAT is what the market is demanding ..... our future depends on the Die Filer Saw!

This is one of those times that our emoticons come up REALLY SHORT. I wanted to put a heart, a wow, and a laughing emoticon on that Mike! I ended up settling for love......

REALLY COOL MACHINE! But,.... I'll keep my wife......

Step 2, find out if @Susquatch wife has a sister or equally qualified female cousin who is single.

She has two amazing sisters. But they are both equally happily married. There might be a cousin available though. I'll ask her. They are all tiny little Italian women who like BIG guys.

not easy loosing weight with a French chef in the kitchen.

I think Italian food trumps French food in all the vital categories except maybe baking and desserts. But my family is German (far and away the best desserts) and she made a point of learning how to make all my favorite desserts better than my mother did. It's a wonder I am still living.

So you must have Tourtiere around Christmas? My wife's mom's side is French Canadian and that is always a traditional meal around Christmas.

Not sure what a toutiere is.

My Italian girl makes Christmas cake the year before aged in dark rum, shortbread cookies, jamjams, kiffles, a smoked ham with a 3 mustard mix and home baked bread with lots of butter, a big roasted turkey with gravy and cranberry sauce, prime rib roast with gravy and Golden Brown Yorkshire pudding every Christmas. Most of the family leaves in wheelbarrows. I try my best to leave room for boxing day.... I never make it.

I can't wait for next Christmas.

I spent about 30min yesterday cutting paper. Mostly b/c I have lots and lots of paper. And in Calgary they will not take paper next to the bin.

I am too lazy to drive to the dump. So off to another week it is.
