When Waterton weather is nice it's nice... but when it ain't, it is like you say it is SH!T! Coldest, most miserable wind ever comes off Waterton lake.
oh yea, and the wind, wow, i was there for probably 3 months, maybe 4 in total, it was crap more often than it was nice, and boy that water is cold! i jumped in a few times after a long 30+ day, i swear if i was any older at the time it would have given me a heart attack! It is some clear though, i mean you can see the fish 10ft down!
We used to water ski Waterton Lake back in the 80's. Sans chicken suit, too.
You want to see cold, hike up to Crypt & cool off with a quick dip in the lake there, where the snow drifts are still melting into the lake at the far end. Fresh, but very refreshing!

Wall lake at Waterton is a short 2.5 ish hour hike, and has a nice 15ft cliff along the left side when you come in, down about 200m. Also with the snow drifts in the water.

Now that you say that it’s FORUM lake not wall lake that has the cliff.
You got me remembering and wall lake has the flat cross country ski able walk… forum is steeper. It’s forum. My bad.
Hmmm... Seems to me we skied Forum, too. They're all part of that Akamina/Kishenina trail, no?

Ya. They come off that trail. Forum first then wall slightly after. Wall is basically flat, forum more steep. It was prettier in my memory before the fire then the last time I was there.
Right. Haven't been there for probably 25 years or more. Forgot about the fire. Maybe I shouldn't visit, just keep my fond memory. It was beautiful back there.
