  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Small tools to trade?

So I've picked up a couple of auction box lots and have some duplicates. I wondered if anybody was interested in these. Particularly for a trade. Remember, I'm located in Oakville.

1) Cheap bearing scrapers, set of 3. These are made in India and may embody the worst of the stereotypes about tools from that region! Straight, triangular and curved. Possibly the best value would be to reuse the handles somewhere!

2) "K" size drills (2) with Morse taper #1 shank. They say on the box that they were made in Sheffield, England by "Vana". A web search for that company turned up nothing. Also called a "High Speed Twist Drill" but who knows what they are actually composed of. The MT1 shank does seem to fit in a sleeve I have.

A K size drill is supposed to be 0.281 inches -- no idea if these are in spec. The size is equivalent to 7.41 mm or approximately 9/32 inches.

I'm pretty much ready to give these away but it would be more fun to trade for something. Maybe you have a small tool that is a duplicate? Something you made? Even a small chuck of stock. Whatcha got?
