Oh that is a nice looking shop, dramatic lighting and all.

My shop is small but I'm just thrilled with the way it works, I keep tweaking it when something can be improved. Electronic section and mechanical section, saws and grinders in an adjacent room, and supplies room also adjacent. In my previous house everything was spread out part in garage, part in basement and part in office did not work well at all.

My shop, I am no machinist, retired and I restore old Italian motorcycles, out of necessity I accumulated machine tools to fabricate parts and carry out repairs as finding parts or small shops willing to carry out these small projects is becoming increasingly difficult and I enjoy learning new skills

I have no pride, here's my shop(s). It's actually reasonably neat today. Lathe bench, big tool cabinet and ready-use bins for fasteners. Milling machine corner. Big CNC engraver & chemicals. Drill presses. Bandsaws and smaller tool storage. Laser engraver, CNC router, manual engraver.

I think shops vary greatly based on how they are used.
+ If your fixing tractors etc. on a farm, you need big heavy duty equipment
+ if your making lots of something, probably CNC
+ my shop is more like what you see in R&D where you rarely make more than one of anything. Definitely not a one size fits all. I do like looking at shops to get "good" ideas.

I would post up some pics but I'm afraid the obvious organization, shiny floors, etc. might cause cardiac palpitations in some of our more senior members.

Yeh right ! :)

My little shop has to be organized or I can’t fit everything in.
Some people say it’s a sickness, but, I don’t waste any time trying to locate tooling, fixtures or various materials.

Firmware ? No idea, nothing to do with breast augmentation I'm sure, although I did see some pretty cool tools in that arena when the wifey was seeing an oncology plastic surgeon.
Computer stuff ?
