Really ?

I can understand staying away a minimum of 6 feet.
But I am a little perplexed by the maximum of 8..................a 2 foot sweet spot???😎
Easier to control a crowd if they aren't spread out too much. I can actually visualize it - everyone behaving like a little molecule, linked to the next person, never more than 8ft and never less than 6ft apart. Easier to spread the DDT on them that way...

The reason construction doesnt cause the disruptions in the US compared to Canada is that...
One other significant difference is the length of the construction warning lanes. Stateside, a coupla hunnert yards out they have the deceleration lane, move through the construction zone & back up to speed. Up here, about 2km out they start slowing you down, you go through the construction and maybe, just maybe, you'll be back up to highway speed in another 2 km. It pisses me off to no end. And then they wonder when people speed through construction zones. It shouldn't add 5 minutes to your daily commute to go past 75 feet of bridge construction.

The reason construction doesnt cause the disruptions in the US compared to Canada is that , down there they build new construction freeways & major interchanges BEFORE the population is introduced to the area, in Canada we build residential monstrosities, let the population in and then say "ohhh wow we created a bottleneck, lets make it worse for the next 4 yrs trying to catch up".
You're right. The USA started the interstate system in the early '50s, under Eisenhower. The catalyst was the Cold War and possibly needing to transfer military assets or evacuate civilians. You likely know more than me about the history on it.

Canada definitely try's to fix the problem after it's too late. Winnipeg bypass, Montreal bypass, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Toon Town....

I do like the highway once you hit Manitoba heading west (besides it's uphill) and the Regina half ring road.

Hi Guys,

Here in the UK it was supposed to be 2 metres apart if anyone took any notice, particularly when politicians happily broke their own rules !

I've heard this a few times but I'm not sure how true it actually is. Probably depends on the tactics. ICE recently tried to do raids in NYC and it failed immediately because there was little room to maneuver and because of the density of people willing to resist them.

In pretty much all military campaigns throughout history, taking over cities is way harder than the countryside. There are exceptions, but most I'm aware of involve dense forests or mountains that are even less navigable.

Staff, office admin, supervisor, manager, basically anyone who has excellent communication and organizational skills is worth their weight in gold.

Thought I had ordered some parts for a radio that I am fixing. Paid for the parts and the front desk person who took the payment said that they would let the guy who orders the parts know that payment has been received. This was done in person with the parts guys apparently a few feet away on a lunch break. Unfortunately it was the parts person's last day of work for 9 days. 9 days later I call back and talk to the same front desk person and they now say that the parts person is sick but as soon as they get "in" they will ask them about the parts order. That was a call I made this past Monday. Today I call, same front desk person, and they pass me on to the parts person. When I ask about the parts they tell me they had no idea the parts were paid for and apologized. Now the parts have been ordered. This is a "mom and pop" size business and it's their "down season". Can't imagine what happens there when things get busy.😀

A week or two ago I noticed my door key was starting to crack. No panic I have a spare hidden, sure enough it finally broke. So I stole my spare key. I said to myself, YOU NEED TO CUT A NEW SPARE. I actually don't know where to get keys cut in the USA but that's in venereal.

I was hustling to get across the border today to make my delivery, got empty, needed fuel and more importantly a bathroom. Started splashing fuel, ran inside to find a urinal, came back out, doors locked, no keys. Check one pocket, one lonely dime, other pocket just a pocket knife. Had my wallet and jacket. No phone. Trucks running. Trucks at the fuel island blocking a lane. Run inside and borrow their phone and call a tow truck IMG_4800.jpeg

For the love of all that's holy someone remind me to hide that again tomorrow 🙄

Don't forget to hide that tomorrow. 🙄 😛

My son locked himself out of his 150 the other day and called a tow truck to unlock it I said why didn’t you just use the key pad but he forgot the combination.

I carry a spare key to both the truck & the bike in my pocket at all times. I know, I know...

I was down in Montana a number of years ago w/ our old Suburban at a restaurant. The starter calved. Got a new starter, had tools in the back of the truck. Disconnected the battery, changed the starter out in the middle of the parking lot, re-connected the battery, all the doors locked, the key was in the ignition.

Even then (especially?) I carried a spare key. You could lock the key into the 'Burb. You can't in the Avalanche. If you hit the door lock & close the door w/ the key in the ignition, the lock opens automatically. The reason I carry the spare key for the Avalanche is because twice now the goofy programmed ignition key has failed.

Dont know if still the case but at one time , if you drove a KW there would have been somebody come along shortly that had a key for your whole truck...KW had a seven key series so that every truck had a one-in-seven same key capability.

My weather app got this great new feature, coloured weather warnings.

Yellow warning, really ?
I think that was an environment Canada change to their forecasting. I don't mind as long as they don't start naming every freaking storm that comes along. And since when did every damn full moon need to have a special name? "Don't miss tonight's Drunken Bridesmaid Moon!" The weather is interesting enough without catchphrases and handles.
And get off my f'in lawn!

"severe weather event" "winter storm watch" "extreme weather advisory"....

It's going to snow? In Canada? In winter? Got it, thanks for the heads up
