I'm looking for 3 replacement screws (m2 thread) for a camera lens I'm repairing.

I would have attempted them myself but my lathe is in pieces right now being converted to CNC--and I'm not sure I'd have the skill for this anyway!

Attached are pictures (just for scale, I can provide any more specific dimensions you need).

If you're local (Maple Ridge, BC) I can bring the old ones by for you to measure!

I wish the pics were better, or would open to larger high resolution ones.

I have a fair amount of screws from photographic equipment I can look thru.

The ability to make this type of screw is why I got my chipmaster lathe and collet chuck.

Take a look at old hard disks - they contain a lot of small torx head screws exactly like this.

You'd think it was torx the way the stripped head looks but yes it doesn't matter what type of driver

They look like JIC to me. But ya, drive shouldn't matter.

Any chance you can mic them (even with calipers if needbe) and make a crude drawing?

Haha! I’ve been using various forms of CAD since the 90s so I actually find this easier than drawing it on paper (because my drawing skills are terrible so it would be both unrecognizable and unreadable)

Does the shoulder diameter have to mate some other part feature to some specific tolerance?
Found this on Aliexpress under 'shoulder screw' but not 100% sure what's going on. Their table does not show dimension D for M2 even though I've selected it. Table starts at 4 (presumably M4). But dimension D is always a bit less than nominal so with fingers crossed, might be like your drawing measurements? Maybe poke around Ali on your own or maybe has something in the spare parts bin. Its not horrible to make but it would have to be a straight (slitting saw made) head in my shop.

Why wouldn't you just make it out of a larger screw with a better head?
