Yes, it always is amazing, had a friend,he was deemed slow -mentally handicapped was the "term". Strong like ox, he was known to life 45 gal. barrels full of water. He could also give you the life history of their 100 head of cows, every one, the calves they had, colours of them and every years calve, the selling weight, and on. You did not get him started on the planets and such, what he had seen with his own telescope!
Some times I thought I had the handy cap!

They say that every handicap has its strengths. Recall was his. And sometimes savant's hide happily behind a veil of secrecy. Never judge a book by its cover.

Maybe interesting for me, MRI in July
For those outside of Alberta....our wait time for a MRI is a year or more ( at least for non life threatening problems). I got a referral last October and have a date for this upcoming November. They told me that if I happen to loose all bladder control or my legs become numb before that, that I should go to the ER. Gee thanks for the advice.

Last two MRIs I ended up going private and footing the bill myself. If you're rich you can get good health care here otherwise "take a number and we will call you".

Not sure who your message is directed to.

Here in Ontario things are bad, but not that bad. I've had CatScans & EMRs the same day in emergencies and I'd say about 3 months with non-emergency. The biggest problem here is the availability of doctors and specialists. After that it's emergency wait-times. After that it's available hospital beds. At least that's the experience of me and my family. If there is a way to pay for an EMR or a CatScan here, I don't know about it. But I do know you can anything you want in Michigan with hardly any wait at all if you can afford it.

Well, to be honest, the doctor was drop dead gorgeous so I endured it without complaint. She had great bedside manners too. It was interesting to watch the video screen. Didn't feel very sexy though.
LO! the colonoscopy I endured was about the most discomfort I ever felt, and the irony was my major concern, was not embarrassing myself in front of likely the most beautiful example of the female form, I had ever been naked in front of!

Generally, a difficult a position to be in, even not considering that she was feeding a garden hose up my posterior, all while we both watched it live, on the TV screen! LOL!

Here in BC, it can vary (a LOT!).

My brother was in to his doctor for a routine check-up, they found a lump that they did not like, alongside his spine, and they had him in the machine, that afternoon!

I think, based on that, that there is a bit of flexibility being built in to the system. I would not take it as a bad thing, if they did not see fit to ensure I was rushed to the front of the line! Just sayin'.
