Princess Auto

Canadian Tire used to have a real issue with that kind of thing as well. Then they started the "Tool Loan" program. You buy the used tool from them for full price, and when you bring it back you get your money back. In town here they have a pretty good selection of those tools everyone needs once or twice in their life. Bet it saves them mega $$ in the long run with what used to be new tools coming back after the jobs was done.
I’ve used their tool loan program twice and was quite pleased.
Very nice tools in excellent condition.

What a great idea! Saves all around! I'd love to see what the actual numbers looked like for a place like CTire or Home Despot, on that sort of stuff!

This is what I’d like to get, pity PA doesn’t have the size I want:

https://www.princessauto.com/en/24-x-48-in-fabblock-welding-table/product/PA0009066044

On sale starting Nov 7 for $200 off.

What I’d like is two 24x36 Certiflats, they are light enough to where I could put one at a time on my appliance cart and take them from the basement to the garage when I want to do stinky things. And then there would be powder coated legs that let me join them up either as 24x72 or 36x48.

(maybe red powder coating this time?)

I too have used it, whoever came up with the idea was brilliant!

As a side note, we have a local NAPA-like parts jobber owned by CTC called Partsource that offers the same service. Looks like they have locations in “major centres” across the country.

D

Todays haul.
The welding clamps alone are 50 bucks. There are several dozen various size wingnuts, 5 fuses, hundreds of the plastic pins in different sizes, a light with batteries, an air fitting, 3 masonry bits and whatever the hell the $70 pressurized thermos thingy is supposed to be. I was with the neighbour when we walked in and I won the race.

Nice haul. I'm not sure if the local one for me (whitby) has a box like this as I haven't been there in a while. I usually just ship stuff now, as I never have time to get over there, and it saves me that inevitable $100 of stuff I didn't know I needed.

For $15, you did good on this one. One thing is for certain. That's a nice thermos like type thing...

It's kinda like a mini beer keg. Fill it up, pump in some pressure with the pump on the lid and you're set. The hose and tap are missing but should be easy enough to scrounge together. The plastic push pins are on my wife's Subaru and on my Express van as well.

I think that's what happens when you don't buy anything there for a year of more.....

I had that happen once and that's exactly what they told me. They also said you can call in and get added for another year.

........what kinda redneck home engineering outfit you running out there in Cowtown? Don't be telling us that you outfit your shop supplies at IKEA .......:p

Since the supply of cheap brake cleaner dried up, I've had no need to go there.........
