Peavey Mart Closing

You mean that wasn't just a Chicken on the Run delivery driver?

What would be the business slogan when delivering live chickens door-to-door with a coop tied to the back of your A-Team van?

We drop'em off and you chop'em off???

Fresh off the bumper???

For those who might be wondering I posted a picture of a guy driving around in an 80's van with live chickens in a coop strapped to the back in another thread. This isn't a one time thing for this guy. My wife has seen him driving all over the city with the chickens:

Van with chicken coop

I'm glad that guy isn't driving around here. My wife would buy his entire flock....Although she's taken to hatching her own now, and I'm currently sitting in the living room with a small pen and 5 chicks waiting to grow large enough to move outside. Yes they smell, no I can't wait for them to leave......

The original slogan was “So fast, you get your chicken before you get your change” before they were bought by Popeyes.
I think it would work nicely.

Sounds like the typical over-aggressive acquisitions and leverage of assets followed by a cash-crunch and contraction.

Buying the naming rights to an arena in 2021??

And now they're trying to dump the Ace Hardware brand.

I don't have time to read the entire thread (sorry about that I have to go) but:
Praxair is now Linde here

Not precisely true. They purchased the customer list from Praxair, and the former phone number for Air Liquide. They raped me for my tank exchange from Air Liquide, and 5 months later I found out there was a new location for Air Liquide with a new number. Linde said they purchased the Western Canadian business. Obviously false, as Air Liquide reopened. (and Air Liquide confirmed the lie)

I'm NOT a fan of Linde, and won't do business there again.

I hope this post isn't redundant.

That and welding gas cylinder exchange and I'd be right there with you.
I'm close to having to do an exchange on my C25 tank for the first time. The Air Liquide dealer here said they'd do it no problem, I suspect it will even be cheaper, so that might be a non-issue.

Good info, thanks for clarifying!

I have dealt with Lindy in Stoney Creek Ontario when Peavey Mart would no longer exchange gas cylinders. Lindy honored Peavey Mart's agreement at their location. Straight exchange for the bottle and then the gas charge with tax. No complaints. I have 5 bottles and Jake the counter person stated that Lindy understood the market for hobby welders and were going to keep that option open.

It would be nice if Princess Auto did gas bottle exchanges, their hours are just better.

This week my wife and I were at the Limeridge Mall in Hamilton. Both Sears and the Bay now gone. I said to my wife, there should be a Princess Auto at this location, there isn't any store in this entire mall that interests me. If Princess Auto would locate here, the mall would be full of people, men at Princess Auto and their wife's shopping the mall. Take your time sweety, I will be awhile. My opinion.

Man that would be expensive. Doubly so in fact . Be careful what you wish for. This morning I picked up some small things from PA. It's another store that they don't let you leave without spending at least $100.

I then suppose you never go into Costco, leaving after spending just $100 makes one sound like a peasant.

I am in favour of local retail, I think the big malls should have a Princess Auto, maybe not at Yorkdale in Toronto, but the less expensive malls should have them. Malls need an anchor and like it or not I think Princess Auto has the ability to provide that service. I know many men that will never go to a shopping mall, some will but wait in the car while their wife is in the mall. Outlet malls, are the same to me, they need a tool store or something. I attend and people watch for entertainment, that is as good as it will get for me.

I'm the same way Tony. I generally hate malls. In fact I hate malls, big cities, stop and go traffic, Walmart, clothing stores, barber shops, beauty salons, shoe stores, kitchen stores, bed and bath, etc. Usually, I wait in the car and watch the people going in and out. I'd go in if they had a hardware or tool store.
