  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Thanks for letting me join, I wasn't sure if I had to be Canadian. I found my way here on the recommendation of @mmcmdl.

I am a retired machinist/job shop owner, originally from the San Joaquin valley of California. I now live in the mountains of north-eastern California. I have a small home shop, consisting of a South Bend Heavy 10L and Kent vertical mill (BP clone), along with various stock cutting and welding equipment. Machining was my second career but always my first love. I was a machinist at heart long before I even knew what that was. I was over 40 before I could build a wooden gate that would open in the winter.

Everybody loves pictures......

Welcome from Ontario Farm Country sir!

I did the Rubicon in the high Sierras once. Trip of a lifetime for me.

I still remember the bus driver asking if we knew what the red markers were along the highway. I guessed they couldn't be snow markers cuz they were too short. He didn't ask us about anything else. :D
