Machining Vises & Chucks - Online Auction, Brampton, ON

Picked up this morning! IMG_5423.jpeg
$175.43, all in.

IMG_5424.jpeg
Thread files, plus a tool I have to assume is for female threads? $23.39. Two of each type. Maybe someone gets a Christmas present? Two Grey and two Nu-Thread.
IMG_5425.jpeg
Starrett clamps. One has a bent thread and needs a little attention. $18.19.
IMG_5426.jpeg
Bearings and pullies. Bought solely for the large bearing, which I had a plan for, which involves cutting it up, but now that I see it… it’s awfully nice. :/
$23.39

GS vise, duplicate of the one Combustible Herbage was kind enough to pick up and drive down from Ottawa for the meet-up at my work. $110.46.
I’m going to keep it at work, it’ll be nice to have two matching vises, can stick them on the same mill for longer stuff, etc.

Also drove down to Hamilton to pick up a faceplate. Turned out to me the wrong cam-lock size, though (D1-8 rather than 6). The fellow had asked an employee to check the chucks on a skid, and it looks like he measured one, and assumed the rest were the same.

Enjoyed my tour of the shop, though.

For sale! Surely it’ll fit in someone’s garage…
IMG_5419.jpeg
Vertical turret lathe.
IMG_5417.jpeg
A robot base they’re building. The (not quite) vertical members are ~10-12” square.
IMG_5415.jpeg
Saw horse?
IMG_5420.jpeg
Welding table.
IMG_5421.jpeg
3” top!

Haven’t seen an internal thread thing that you showed before. External thread files are useful. If you decide to sell, please let me know.

Missed the Harig, but I’ll live. Not sure what it went for, I’d bid $190.

The Harig went for $195. Sorry :)

I got a couple small other things but got outbid on most of what I was interested in. I bid up the 4140 quite a bit but the other guy wanted it more. Seemed some of the early lots went reasonably but shortly afterwards everyone showed up and deals were gone.

The thing I wanted most was the 6” magnetic sine plate but it didn’t work out.

There is always something fun about an auction though.

My brother was an early bidding on the magnetic sine plate too...

The tool in the bottom of the pics is a Snap-on thread chaser repair tool TR-25-1

You're missing these to it @Stuart Samuel . The auctioneers were sloppy

I didn't get them in my lots but my friend did. I'll try to secure them for you, others may have fallen out during loading and transport because he didn't know these were in the bottom of an empty cabinet

Much appreciated! Both for the ID and the possibility of reuniting those with the holder.

I was actually pleasantly surprised, having heard horror stories of auction pick-ups gone wrong. The handle for the vise? Still with the vise!
