Little drill press

Sorry no answer on this one for you. Only advice is too small (voltage wise) and Poof! Larger doesn't hurt, can't remeber if you want electrolytic ones or ceramic.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. For now I'm still on a path to a 3 phase motor and a VFD. I've been searching for a 3PH 1/2 HP motor that fits my budget. I have found a number of motors but they are 575V. Most of the less expensive VFD's I've sourced are either 120v single PH in and 220v 3 PH out or 220 single in and 220 3PH out. My search continues.

I put a VFD onto the existing 3ph motor in a surface grinder, and they weren't cheap, although that was awhile ago and they seem to be a lot less expensive now, for example on AliExpress. The one's I've seen are often 220v in and out but now I see them in 110v too. I've found a number of 3ph motors that were very inexpensive..... I got some at a metal salvage yard 3/4hp 3ph for $2-3 each (by the pound). I got a 5hp and a 10hp 3ph motor for free.
