Index plate .STL file wanted

Here is an openscad design your own. Interested to see how well this one works.
I had seen this before, but was being lazy and didn't want to venture too far into CAD all alone. After some more searching, i took the plunge. Downloaded openscad, played with some numbers and I have a plate printing as we speak. Took 10 minutes to figure out including measuring my plate for dimensions. Very easy having a template laid out like that.

And here it is. I added the numbers in Bambu Studio before printing.

Printing out some sector arms now.

Looks awesome

I hate you sometimes.......

Those are amazing Darren. I really am jealous!

What material did you use? Is it durable enough to resist wearing out too quickly? Or do you plan to use them as templates to drill some plate steel? Are the holes tapered?

I printed the plate at 70% infill, so it's very strong. I'll be making a few gears with it but there's no way I will ever wear it out.

Working on and off on printing my mando outfit. Nice to see the stormtrooper helmet. I want your printer. I'm still printing in prices with me cr30

Piece of advice when assembling the pieces: Use the hot glue gun you forgot that you have and not JB Quick weld.

I could have saved myself a lot of mess and wouldn't have been still painting it at 6am Halloween morning......

Total printing time was about 40 hours, but i could have trimmed that down to maybe 10 if i didn't print in 2 colors. There was some de-lamination you can see in the pics due to cool down while color changing. I should have printed it in all white and just painted in the black parts.

40hrs is a dream. I would say just on the 4 pieces of my mando helmet was a good 5 days. With failures close to double that. I am looking to get a ps1 in the new year, sooner if I can get some other items sold. The new gen of printers are so much faster.

I'm sort of planning to make a gear cutting attachment for my shaper, using the plates from the same generator that you used.

Nice, you going to try some spiral milling?
The fellow I bought my old K&T from put a Cummins 4bt into a Grumman van but couldn't buy the gear ratio he wanted for the rear differential, so he made one..... Interesting guy with a lot of cool toys, I wish I had kept in touch, although he was well out of my league skill-wise and probably wouldn't have wanted me wasting his time.....
