  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The ”excellent for roughing but not so good for tight tolerances” statement is a bit of a red flag. But it is running so you could take a few cuts to check it out. It might just need some adjustment. Or maybe some expensive new bearings. Hard to say.

yeah, for sure. But if you can check it out and see if it is in fact that the ways are no good, or if it's something easily fixable like gib adjustment, levelling/alignment or something else -- might be worth it. For 3k, you'd have money left over for rigging, a transformer (i'm guessing it's probaly 550v 3ph) and vfd or rpc, and still be ahead vs a 7k myford :p
