If you could own just one special vehicle what would it look like?

Would you hate me if I told you I've driven one?

Amazing car.
Hate is a strong word, but I would be a bit jealous and I don't have a jealous bone in my body.

If I drove one I would like to drive it somewhere where I could really thrash it a bit.

I'm guessing you drove one of the newer (05ish) models?

I raced one with my Mustang, I beat him to the end of the 1/4 mile (barely), but he was gaining on me, I think he was turning high 10's bone stock, probably had the A/C on;-)

Nope, the older $$$ original.

That's no fun. But to be honest, although its an amazing car, its not one I'd really like to own. If I couldn't have my Boss, I'd take an old 70ish Shelby over the GT.

How did you manage to drive a GT40?
Must have been a tight squeeze given your height?

Here what I'd like if we are talking older vehicles. Even as a kid i thought they were cool.

Well if you liked your Boss, you definitely would appreciate a drive in my 65, lighter chassis, almost twice the power, and much much better handling. Just a super fun car to drive.

I prolly would. Just a quick drive around the block. But I might get lost and not come back for a few months.....

Well, there’s the Mustang that the guy down the street from me dug out of a swamp and restored. Um, not a Ford…

That's pretty amazing.

Porsche 959 in rally setup. Was my dream car as a teen, and still is - always loved rally cars - performance meets real world conditions (not a specially prepped track.)
Not really the most beautiful car, but is beautiful in a utilitarian kind of way. And stupid fast for what it was capable of driving over.

Now someone mentioned planes - they are vehicles too - so then the whole debate of would I love a plane - sure (spitfire) - but I'd need to learn to fly first. I'll stick to cars until I win the lottery.

I have a "mustang guy" near me too (about 10k west). We're a popular spot for a lot of recreational/training flying, and he's flown over and around the house quite a few times in the last couple years. Absolutely amazing to watch this fly by at low altitude and full beans. The sounds is incredible. Quite a bit outside of my price range by a few decimal places though......

I was the weird dude scraping ice off the INSIDE of his windshield LOL. It had a gas(oline) heater but the locomotive huff & puff flames made me nervous
I was aware of gas heaters in cars but have never seen one in person. They kind of intrigued me but I also think that "surely they could have come up with something better?".
That fact you scraped ice on the inside of the windshield probably answers my query of "were they adequate".

Guess I missed this last flight over my house while I was at work. https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N951HB/history/20250704/1855Z/CHF4/CHF4

Going by the data he was @3000' and about 280mph when he passed just east of me heading north. It's a pretty cool sight. That flight was a bit further east of my place, so I might not have seen him because of the trees, but no doubt would have heard it. That's happened a few times.

Total thread hijack but here on Vancouver Island we have a local float plane airline who used to (may still have) a fleet of DeHavilland Beavers. They only fly with a pilot so the copilot seat is available for a passenger. When I used to fly to Vancouver and back for work I'd always try to get the front seat. Hearing that big radial engine fire up was always awesome!
