  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. because that is the northern limit of the southern ocean.

I grew up obsessed with atlases, and got into sailing because as a kid I'd view atlases and plan all the places I thought I'd like to sail to.

So the Southern Ocean is not defined by landmasses? It's just an arbitrary line around the globe at 60 degrees?

This time of year you never know what the weather will do.
My wife worked in Auckland NZ for 6 weeks for KPMG In 1994.
We have friends along the Gold Coast and Kuranda.
 
Welcome from Ottawa Ontario, glad to have you aboard, though most of us are from Canada, being Canadian means we are open to new people and new ideas. I'd love to hear about your machines and your challenges in getting equipment and tooling , we are pretty lucky here we can get most everything quickly but it costs$$ or the other option is Asian stuff much cheaper both in price and quality sometimes and longer wait times for delivery but mostly useable for my stuff.
And I guess that lathes would turn the opposite direction down there so how do you go about that do you just stand on the other side?:p:p.
