DavidR8's shop shenanigans

regarding sawstop: European saws have a more sophisticated safety system that doesn't misfire, and one that doesn't cost you nearly 200$ each time it fires. Vendors vary, instead of destroying your blade and the safety system. the saw shuts down, while lowering the blade without jamming it into soft aluminum.

I know people that love SS, and those that resold theirs after a year. It all depends on how you use it and how many false firings you've had. 😱

Interesting. No one has asked how those pictures were created.
1. I asked google to make me a photo showing 5 MGBs in a pile on top of each other. That was the junk yard photo.
2. It then asked me if I wanted the photo changed.
a) New cars,
b) Stacked neatly,
c) one other thing that I don't remember.
3. I asked for new cars but sitting stacked on a driveway in front of a garage.

AI at work. Really amazing.
 
For example because I saw this photo on facebook

I asked this:
make me a photo of a beautiful girl standing in front of a canal in The Netherlands with the sign saying "If you were invited to go to the Netherlands for free would you go?"

And here's what it gave me.

I changed the text from "sign" to "written on a towel" leaving everything else the same.
And here is what I got.

Has me wondering if the first photo is even real?

I didn't ask cuz it seemed quite obvious. But I use AI a lot for stuff like that. I should prolly use it even more than I do.
 
I’m wondering about when they fire everyone because of AI or Robotics who is going to buy their products unless they reduce the price range for the scavengers they are creating.
I also believe that if they want to go Robotic they should have to contribute to CPP and social programs.

That sucks, particularly since it was most likely some of his work that was used to train the AI.

I really don't think that is a dissenting opinion. I doubt any of us disagree with you on that aspect.

It happened to one of my sons too. AI replaced everyone in his office. I hate that.

I can't afford a graphics artist to do my stuff so I don't think my choice affects that. On a large scale perhaps it does. I don't know.

I have no answers.
